Netflix has dropped the trailer for its upcoming original rom-com When We First Met, starring Adam DeVine and Alexandra Daddario. The new movie tells the story of how Noah (DeVine) met Avery (Daddario), “the girl of his dreams,” falls in love with her, and winds up in the dreaded friend-zone.
Years later, Noah gets another chance to win her heart thanks to a time-traveling photo booth. The film is directed by The Duff‘s Ariel Sandel and written by John Whittington from The LEGO Batman Movie.
The trailer shows Noah traveling back in time, several times, to the night he met Avery at a Halloween party where they’re both dressed up in epic pop-culture costumes: him as Garth from Wayne’s World and her as a member of the Rockford Peaches from A League of Their Own. DeVine fails, almost every time, as he tries to woo Dadaddrio’s character in a series of unfortunate and hilarious encounters.
When We First Met also costars Shelley Hennig, Andrew Bachelor, and Robbie Amell and starts streaming Feb. 9 on Netflix. Watch the trailer above.
